I, Geraldine Haggard was born August 25, 1959. My parents were Isaiah Williams Sr. and Lola Mae Bethany Williams. To this marriage only 2 children, one brother and myself. I was raised on a plantation in Panther burn, Ms. I got religion at the age of 12. I been knowing about Jesus a long time. I went to elementary school in Anguilla, Ms. and finished high school in Rolling Fork, Ms as a teen mom. One year after high school I attended college at MVSU. However, after a year, I delayed my studies and begin employment at the Farm Fresh Catfish Factory in Hollandale, Ms. For 11 years. During the beginning of my employment I became best friends with Joann Flowers who soon introduced me to her cousin who 1 and ½ years later became my husband. About seven years into our marriage, my husband was diagnosed with cancer. January 4, 1991, my husband died. Leaving me no choice but to raise 3 sons: One, Six and Thirteen. All are grown and I now have 7 grand children amongst the 3. While the boys were still in school I proceeded with my studies and graduated from MVSU, with a BS in HPER and a AA in Early Childhood. I currently work for WCOI Headstart/Early Headstart where I teach. I also, currently work for the city of Hollandale as Alderwoman, Ward 1.
